The Port of Kingston in Jamaica, despite its favorable geographical location, faces a serious flooding problem. Every time it rains heavily, operations are affected, generating economic losses and reducing its reliability as a key logistics hub in the Caribbean.
To meet this challenge, we were called upon to provide technical assistance. This is our first project in Jamaica, and we seek to transform this need into a concrete action plan to improve port infrastructure.
Our work consists of analyzing and defining the necessary studies and works. In addition, we accompany the entire contracting process, from the drafting of the terms of reference for the design and construction bids, to the structuring of possible financing with public-private participation.
For the success of the project, we consider the coordination between the different actors involved, such as public authorities, logistics operators and other participants in the port environment, to be fundamental. As this is a new working environment for us, we rely on local consultants to better adapt our solutions.
Our ultimate goal is to develop the infrastructure of the Port of Kingston so that it can take advantage of its full potential and consolidate itself as the strategic logistics hub it can be for the region.
