We were hired to design the structures and foundations for their pulp mill in Punta Pereira, Colonia, Uruguay. The plant produces 1,300,000 tons of pulp and generates 180 MW of biomass energy.
We were responsible for the design of foundations and structures for several key buildings in the plant:
The design included cast-in-place and precast reinforced concrete. In total, we used 71,000 cubic meters of concrete.
We delivered the plans, technical specifications and bills of materials for construction. We also provided on-site technical assistance to solve any design problems during construction and supervised the entire job.
This project provided a solid engineering foundation for one of the largest pulp mills in the region. This allowed for the construction of a complex, large-scale industrial infrastructure.
