We were contracted by UTE for the detail project of the Baygorria station, in Durazno, Uruguay. The objective was to adapt bars 1 and 2 and their new derivations. The station, which generates 3 x 36 MW of hydraulic energy, required changing the busbar material, renewing the disconnectors and changing the connection cables.
Our tasks were divided into two main areas:
We made the calculation and sizing of the conductors, and created the detailed drawings and memories of fittings and connectors. We made a descriptive report of the works and a shielding study for the station. We also prepared mechanical calculations for the gantries and a report on the ampacity of the 150 kV bus.
For the civil structures, we created the deflection tables and verified the existing frames.
The upgrading of the Baygorria station improved the power plant’s electrical infrastructure. This ensured a safer and more efficient operation of the power generation and distribution system.
