CSI led the architectural design and coordination of all disciplines involved in the new penitentiary center of St. Maarten, a strategic project that seeks to improve prison conditions and strengthen the island’s public infrastructure.
This project represents an important technical and human challenge. Each design decision responds to the complexity of the environment and the need to create more functional, safe, sustainable and respectful spaces. It is a development designed to last in a demanding climatic context, marked by constant exposure to tropical storms, heavy rains and high humidity.
We incorporate energy-efficient architectural solutions, durable materials adapted to the climate, and a sustainability approach that includes the use of renewable energy and preventive maintenance strategies.
In addition to architectural design, we coordinate the integration of all technical disciplines involved, ensuring compatibility between systems and a holistic approach throughout the process. This synergy between architecture, engineering and planning reinforces CSI’s commitment to integrated project management.
“For CSI, this project is a concrete example of how we add value through our comprehensive approach, accumulated technical expertise and the coordinated work of a highly qualified team.
With architecture designed to resist, evolve and serve with dignity, this new prison becomes a regional example of resilient infrastructure and responsible planning.
