Design and construction management of VISCOFAN's collagen fiber plant.

We were contracted for the detailed designs of a 10,000 m² industrial plant in Pando, Canelones, Uruguay. The objective was a progressive production that, in its final stage, would reach 600 million meters per year of collagen casing.

We take care of the architectural, structural and infrastructure designs, including soil movement, paving and drainage. We also design all installations.

We prepare and deliver the necessary documentation for bidding and construction: plans, technical specifications, memories, computations and lists of materials.

Facilities

  • Electrical: We designed the medium and low voltage installation, including the 31.5 kV power supply, substation, generators, power panels and grounding system.
  • Thermo-mechanical: We designed an ammonia system to cool the glycol with compressors and condensers. This glycol would be used as a refrigerant for several areas of the plant.
  • Sanitation: We design the industrial sanitation network for process effluents and cleaning waters.

Our detailed designs provided a solid engineering basis for a complex industrial plant. This facilitated an expansion of production on a large scale and in a planned manner.
