Maximum Security Center in Uruguay

We carried out the detailed design for the turnkey construction of a new maximum security detention center in Uruguay. The project covered 40,000 m² distributed in 12 buildings, with 500 cells and a total capacity for 1,500 inmates.

The complex included three Internment Units for Persons Deprived of Liberty (UIPPL), identified as numbers 27, 28 and 29, each with 460 functional spaces for a medium-high security adult male population. In addition, we developed a center with 20 places for administrative detentions (extraditable persons), another with 30 places for the admission sector, and common spaces that incorporated workshops and a health area.

Our scope contemplated the integral design in the areas of architecture, electrical and structural engineering, site infrastructure, sanitary systems, fire protection, hot water system and air conditioning.
