Water resources and drinking water
Water treatment plant commissioned in Dondo, Angola

We were contracted for the consultancy, construction management and commissioning of two Water Treatment Plants (WTP) in Dondo, Angola. Each plant has a production capacity of 20 m³/h. Our work included supervision of assembly, installation, operator training and commissioning of the units.

Works Performed

The project included the execution of several works:

  • Concrete Bases: We built the reinforced concrete bases for the EPA and the container, with a total volume of 14 m³.
  • Assembly and Installation: We take care of the mechanical assembly of the EPA, and the installation of the pumps and piping for the raw water. We also install the tanks and chemical dosing pumps.
  • Laboratory: We built and equipped a laboratory for water quality control.

Training and Start-up

To ensure the correct operation of the plants, we train the operators in several aspects:

  • Basic knowledge: We provide them with fundamental knowledge about water treatment.
  • Operation and maintenance: We train them in the daily operation and maintenance tasks of the EPA.

Finally, for start-up, we perform laboratory tests to determine the quality of the raw water and the optimum coagulant dosage. We also regulate the flow rate and perform field tests of the treated water to adjust the dosage of the chemicals.

This project allowed us to contribute to improving access to drinking water in the community of Dondo, guaranteeing its long-term operation through the training of local personnel.
