North Pando Integral Improvement Project

Together with IPRU and CAEESU, we were contracted by the Neighborhood Improvement Program (PMB) for the comprehensive improvement project of the informal settlement area of Pando Norte. The project aimed to improve the quality of life of the residents, integrating the area into the rest of the city of Pando.

The project focused on the physical and social improvement of the neighborhood, which included five informal settlements.

  • Urban reorganization: We developed a new site plan for the settlements. We relocated 115 families who lived in flood-prone areas, non-recoverable sites, or within the layout of future public spaces.
  • Utilities and services: We designed new sanitary sewer networks, completed the potable water distribution system, and upgraded and complemented the electrical grid.
  • Drainage and roadways: We designed open and closed stormwater drainage channels. We also designed rural-profile streets, curbs and gutters, and pedestrian pathways.
  • Public spaces and facilities: We designed the architectural project for the Neighborhood Development Center. We improved public spaces such as Plaza de los Eucaliptus and Plaza Mirador Balcón al Parque.
  • Relocations: We developed a housing project for the 115 relocated families.

On the social side, we conducted a population survey to understand their needs and planned a social development project. We managed all required permits and approvals with public agencies.

The infrastructure planning and urban reorganization improved the residents’ quality of life. This provided a comprehensive solution for access to basic services and high-quality public spaces.
