Environmental management plan for a pulp and energy mill operation

We are working on the project for a new pulp and energy plant in Punta Pereira, in the department of Colonia. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 1,300,000 tons of bleached eucalyptus Kraft pulp. It will also generate 180 MW of energy from biomass.

The pulp bleaching process will be carried out without elemental chlorine (ECF method). The debarking of the wood will be done mainly in the plantations, with a maximum debarking of 30% in the plant.

The project design is aligned with the best available technologies and the recommendations of international guidelines, such as IPPC (2001) and IFC (2007), ensuring an efficient and environmentally responsible process.

This project allowed us to contribute to the design of a key productive and energy infrastructure for the country, which seeks to operate under the highest international standards.
