We were contracted to provide consulting services for national routes 12, 54, 55 and 57, covering a total of 260 km. The contract included field studies and the executive project for the maintenance and overhaul of the roads for 20 years. We also designed a bypass for the city of Carmelo.
What our work covered
The project included the design of three new bridges and the strengthening and widening of nine existing structures. To achieve this, we carried out several studies:
- Topographical and expropriation studies.
- Soil surveys complete with borings for structures.
- Pavement design for the 260 km of the route.
- Drainage design, with verification of existing structures and sizing of new ones.
- Hydrological and hydraulic studies, using Hec-Ras modeling to design the new bridges. In particular, we highlight the existing bridge over Arroyo Las Vacas, 150 m long, which is part of the Carmelo bypass.
- Executive road project for the 260 km route, with planialtimetric corrections and the new route of the Carmelo bypass.
- Executive project of level junctions.
- Structural design of 12 bridges, including three new bridges and the reinforcement and widening of nine existing structures.
Project impact
The detailed planning of these works will modernize the region’s road infrastructure, improving traffic safety and efficiency. This will ensure adequate road maintenance for the next two decades.
