Project Description

We were contracted to carry out the field studies and the executive project for the maintenance and overhaul works for the 20 years of the contract, which covers a total of 193 km of national routes N° 9 and N° 15. The scope also includes a new connection specifically designed for heavy traffic, optimizing the circulation between both routes.

The works include the development of the executive projects for 4 new bridges, the reinforcement and widening of 14 existing structures, and the intervention in 6 at-grade junctions.

Our scope

Preliminary surveys and studies

We carry out detailed topographic studies and work on the definition of the necessary areas for expropriation.

Integral road project

We designed the pavement of the 193 km and developed the detailed road engineering with planialtimetric corrections on the existing routes. We also designed 6 at-grade intersections with safety and functionality criteria.

Hydrology, drainage and existing structures

We developed hydrological and hydraulic studies with HEC-RAS modeling, which allowed us to verify the current structures and dimension the new drains and crossings. Particularly noteworthy was the design of the new 120 m long bridge over the Sarandí de las Palomas stream, located on Route 15.

Structural engineering

We executed the detailed design of 18 bridges: 5 completely new (270 meters in total) and 13 reinforced and widened (610 meters). Four of the new bridges were designed with precast girders and in-situ concrete decks, with foundations built with footings or piles, depending on ground conditions. We estimate a total volume of shotcrete of 8,500 m³.
