Industry
Executive design for cellulose pulp plant, Botnia

We were contracted for the detailed design of the structure and infrastructure of the plant, which is located on a 104-hectare site and produces 1 million tons of eucalyptus pulp per year.

Our work focused on several areas:

  • Detailed engineering: We are in charge of the design of the structure and infrastructure for the civil works of the plant.
  • Roads and transportation: We design the main accesses and internal roads, including their paving.
  • Subway piping: We design subway piping networks for rainwater and process piping.

In addition, we designed two key plants:

  • Water Treatment Plant: We designed a plant to treat 1720 l/s of water from the Uruguay River. We used 11,000 m³ of concrete in an area of 8000 m². The plant has sand filters, tanks, sludge thickeners, pump room and cooling towers.
  • Effluent Treatment Plant: We designed a plant to treat industrial effluents before discharging them into the river. The plant, with 39,000 m³ of concrete on 40,000 m², includes clarifier tanks, equalization and aeration basins, and cooling towers.

Detailed planning of the infrastructure and water treatment plants was key to this project. This allowed for efficient construction and compliance with high environmental standards for a large-scale industrial plant.
