In our role as consultants, we were hired to develop the executive project for a traffic interchange at the access to La Floresta. Our design elevated Route 35 over the Interbalnearia Route by means of an embankment and a 40-meter structure. This structure was supported on a protected intermediate point in the central median of the double lane.
The interchange we designed facilitates all vehicular maneuvers through four connecting branches and two traffic circles, located on each side of Route 35. We also included a circuit for pedestrians and cyclists, following accessibility regulations.
Due to the limitations of the available public space, we designed practically vertical slopes, which we resolved with reinforced soil. We also designed a drainage system with special structures for water collection and conduction.
Our executive project for the La Floresta transit interchange included a series of detailed studies and designs. We performed topographic, soil, hydrological and hydraulic studies. We also developed the altimetric project, soil movement, drainage system and pavements.
In addition, we designed the traffic detours for the construction phase, the structure of the interchange and we made an estimation of the length of the project. We deliver all the necessary construction documents and a three-dimensional model of the project.
Project impact
The detailed planning of this interchange improved traffic flow and safety at a key point. Our design optimized the use of available space and provided a safe connection for all users.
