Transportation Infrastructure
Feasibility study for the duplication of Route 3 and Route 1.

Through a private initiative, we were contracted for the consulting services for the Route 3 dual carriageway project, in the section between Route 1 and Route 11. This work included the design, planning, construction, operation, maintenance and financing of the road infrastructure.

Tasks we perform

The service included a technical, economic and financial feasibility analysis for the duplication of the Route 3 roadway and the layout of a new bypass for the city of San José de Mayo.

We prepared the executive project for a new 8.1 km section of single track, including a new public road and the widening of existing sections. We also designed a 300-meter bridge over the San José River.

We prepare all the necessary documents for the call for bids.

Scope of the project

The study covered several technical areas. We conducted a feasibility analysis that included social, economic and financial evaluations, as well as a financial modeling of the concession and a risk analysis.

We also conducted demand, traffic and capacity studies. We analyzed layout alternatives, conducted topographic and soil studies with boreholes. We conducted hydrological and hydraulic studies, with Hec-Ras modeling for the bridge design, and an erosion study.

At the design level, we prepared the executive road project, the structural design of the bridge, and an electronic modeling. Finally, we prepared the Project Communication and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

Project impact

The detailed planning of this project laid the groundwork for a key modernization of the road infrastructure. This will improve the capacity and safety of Route 3, benefiting traffic and regional development.
