As part of the National Program for the Construction and Equipment of Educational Infrastructure (PCEIE), we were hired by the Ministry of Public Education of Costa Rica, through a Trust of the National Bank, to carry out construction supervision in educational centers and multi-purpose courts.

As part of the CSI-CACISA consortium, we took on the responsibility of supervising the design and construction of 37 educational centers and 8 multi-purpose courts. These projects, funded by the IDB, were distributed across the 7 provinces of Costa Rica, covering both rural and urban areas.

For this major project, we assembled a multidisciplinary team that included civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers, architects, and environmental supervisors. Together with our administrative staff, we carried out the project’s technical and contractual management.

Our main tasks consisted of:

• Monitoring the technical, legal, and financial aspects of the construction contracts.
• Supervising and approving the detailed designs and technical reports prepared by the contractors.
• Carrying out continuous monitoring of schedules, work plans, and construction progress to ensure compliance with deadlines.
• Inspecting on-site civil works and electromechanical installations, applying strict quality control (QA/QC) and performing verification tests.
• Managing change orders and service orders that arose during execution.
• Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations in each of the projects.
• Verifying and approving the supplies and equipment intended for the educational centers.

Finally, we carried out the acceptance of the works and managed their handover to the Trust, thus concluding our participation in this high-impact project for the country’s educational infrastructure.
