As part of Technical Cooperation Agreement No. 23234 with the Government of Brazil, UNOPS undertook the task of completing, adapting, and expanding the Guajará Mirim Regional Hospital in the State of Rondônia. The project will benefit the local population, indigenous communities, and neighboring areas.
The hospital, with 4,674 m² and a capacity for 204 people, was initiated in 2013 by the state government, reaching 86% completion. UNOPS assessed the physical and documentary condition of the building and the detailed design, assigning CSI the technical review of the design.
Project scope
We reviewed the graphic and written documentation in three stages of the detailed design, covering:
-
Hospital architecture
-
Structure
-
Geotechnical considerations
-
Sanitary systems
-
Water supply systems
-
HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning)
-
Medical gas systems
-
Electrical installations
-
CCTV and access control systems
-
Fire protection system
-
Site infrastructure: access and drainage
-

With this technical review, we ensured that the Guajará Mirim Regional Hospital complied with safety, functionality, and sustainability standards, guaranteeing adequate hospital services for the region.
